A Question

How many recent stories, regardless of subgenre, have you read recently where there was at least some explication on a ritual(s) where a man child became a man or a girl child became a woman? And of those you've read, were most of them devoted to feminine mysteries as opposed to the masculine?

Just something that occurred to me while remembering some wedding customs from the early modern European era, especially that of the charivari. Just wondering if such rituals have faded as much in our modern literatures as they may have in our actual popular cultural traditions.
